The PoE (Power over Ethernet) adapter allows the provision of 10/100/1000mbps through CAT5e, CAT6, or CAT6A Ethernet cables. The power source can be any power supply from 10 V to 30 V, with the adapter's output being 48 V.
The PoE adapter can be powered via the 5.5/2.1 mm DC jack or from the RJ45 terminals – 4.5 + (positive) and 7.8 mm (negative). Thanks to the PoE adapter, a battery (12V or 24V) or passive PoE (10V-30V) can be used to power 48V devices.
In case of power connection to the 2.1mm DC jack input, the energy is isolated from the RJ-45 terminal, allowing them to be connected to a switch or router. The 48V output is provided to the 3.6 + (positive) and 1.2 – (negative) terminals of the female RJ-45 socket to power any 802.3af device.
There is a switch between the voltage and the receiving device, as well as the terminal on which Power over Ethernet operates.
