The MKG three-phase capacitors are examples of next-generation units featuring a cylindrical housing. They are equipped with dual overpressure protection that interrupts the electrical connection at the end of the capacitor's life, preventing it from bursting.
The insulation in MKG type capacitors is nitrogen (N2). The capacitor is equipped with a temperature sensor with a normally closed switch (NC), the contacts of which open at +60 degrees C, providing additional protection for the capacitor and the capacitor bank in case of excessive ambient temperature rise.
The key components of the capacitor are double metallized polypropylene film rolls (aluminum and zinc). This technology ensures self-healing properties of the dielectric, very low active power losses, and a long service life of up to 120,000 hours. If the housing leaks, the capacitor can continue to operate for up to 15,000 hours.
