The membrane separates out 95–99.9% of dissolved contaminants, chemicals, solids, metals, bacteria, and microbes, while the post-carbon filter reduces odors and improves the taste of the water. The carbon filters help remove chlorine, pesticides, organic compounds, and certain heavy metals. The filtration materials are certified to NSF, FDA, and ISO standards.
