Description & Specifications

A chaos reigns in post-communist Ukraine in 1993. Lethargic Soviet war veterans and newly wealthy entrepreneurs listen to an American preacher, one of those who sprout like mushrooms in the post-Soviet territory. In Kharkiv, the headquarters of the communist youth has been transformed into an advertising agency, while a radio station plays Western music, with Depeche Mode leading the way, in the homes of ordinary people.

Amidst this madness, three friends, an anti-Semitic Jew, an unlucky businessman, and an unemployed nineteen-year-old narrator search everywhere for an old friend to tell him that his stepfather has committed suicide. The heroes will confront their reality, suffering from the fever of survival, as they get entangled in a grotesque adventure that balances between tragedy and farce.

For the worker's attention:

How can you construct a bomb at home without the anti-people regime noticing you?

To construct the bomb, you need to gather its components. The components necessary for making the bomb can and should be purchased in retail stores catering to the grassroots economy or be expropriated from the anti-people regime without drawing its attention. You will need:

  1. Paper (you can find it at old paper collection points, at lumber mills, or make it yourself; (see the next brochure in the series "The Library of the Worker").
  2. Nails (these are large metal objects).
  3. Thick wire (thick, comrade!).
  4. Glue (comrade! use your glue to your advantage!).
  5. Strong threads (!).
  6. Potassium nitrate (production, retail stores for grassroots economy, anti-people regime).
  7. Fuse (;).
  8. Magnesium (anti-people regime, only anti-people regime).
  9. 12-gauge shell (we hope you have one).
  10. Rubber (just rubber).
