Take on the role of young Nightingale in this challenging 2.5D RPG inspired by roguelikes, Soulslikes, and classic survival horror games. Explore an expansive procedurally generated map that includes the entirety of Mostyn House and the hedge mazes, tombs, caves, churches, and ruins beyond its gates. 

Create your own perfect build by finding or crafting a wide variety of weapons, tools, spells, clothing, and magical items. Meet a range of strange friends, merchants, and liars, each with their own agenda.

Can Nightingale find a way to escape from Mostyn House, or will she become powerful enough to control it?

    Unfortunately, Withering Rooms wasn’t for me. I gave up after about 2 hours, because the gameplay loop wore me down almost from the start.

    The biggest problem is the combat, which felt slow, clunky, and not satisfying at all. The fights often didn’t feel like they depended on my skill, but on weird hitboxes and unclear hits.

    At the same time, the roguelite mechanics—losing a large portion of your items after death and having to gather resources all over again—felt more frustrating than rewarding.

    The atmosphere and horror setting are interesting, but for me they weren’t enough to keep me playing.
