Multi-Guard® Pregnancy is a specialized multivitamin formula with 23 micronutrients, developed by the Scientific Department of Lamberts®, intended for women of reproductive age who are: hoping to conceive, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
The chemical composition of Multi-Guard® Pregnancy is designed to fully meet the increased nutritional needs of women during the preconception period, pregnancy (covering the needs of both mother and fetus), and lactation. When taken daily, it provides the required amount of folic acid specified by the World Health Organization (400mcg), along with ideal levels of other essential vitamins and minerals needed during this important period.
Ensuring sufficient folic acid intake is very important as it contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy*. The folic acid in Multi-Guard® Pregnancy is in the form of L-methylfolate calcium, which is the metabolically active (methylated) form of folic acid. This ensures adequate metabolic coverage for all women, including those who are unable to methylate folic acid (polymorphisms in the MTHFR gene).
Additionally, it provides 150μg of iodine per tablet, a quantity that matches the recommendations of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists regarding iodine intake during pregnancy. Adequate iodine intake indirectly supports the proper intrauterine development of the fetal brain, as iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function*.

Take 2 tablets daily with a meal or as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
Precautions: This product contains iron, and exceeding the dosage can be harmful, especially for young children. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Individuals taking oral anticoagulants should not take these tablets unless advised by their doctor. Yellow discoloration of urine may occur. This is harmless and indicates that the body is excreting excess vitamin B2 (riboflavin). Long-term intake of Vitamin B6 may lead to tingling sensations (numbness) in the extremities.
