The windproof cap is made of stainless steel. It helps to divert air upward when it moves horizontally and allows descending or ascending currents to be released from the top or bottom of the cap, respectively. Inside and above the chimney opening, there is an inverted cone with insulation inside it, so that the outgoing flue gases, upon striking the cone, are diverted outward without condensing. Additionally, it prevents the entry of water from heavy rainfall.
