The Meinl Sonic Energy Wind gong is traditionally hand-crafted in China from a special alloy of bronze. It is also known as Feng or Sun Gong.
Its shape is almost flat, allowing the vibration to spread widely with great duration. Lower tones dominate when played softly, while playing harder produces wave-like tones.
Yin and Yang represent harmony and balance, describing two opposites that complement each other.
