Let me start by saying that I have polycystic ovary syndrome and I have spent a lot of money on laser treatments for my face (I even did 'beard' in the past). However, after seeing the good reviews, I thought of buying one for home use, hoping to save some money since I had nothing to lose, considering that for arms, face, waist, and abdomen, each session cost me about 100 euros... (I hadn't done more than 2 sessions and quite some time had passed when I started with the Philips). In the photo I attach, you can see how intense my hair growth is. That's how I was when I started. Due to the hormonal issue, I wasn't very optimistic that it would work. The smell it creates is like that of professional laser (burnt hair), but fortunately, the pain is less (even at level 5, which is recommended for fair skin and dark hair). The other photo is two months later, and I haven't done laser for two weeks (I'm still in the early stages). As you can see, the hairs have decreased and those that grow are sparser and less intense. I am VERY happy that I finally found a solution to the hair growth problem (and other girls with PCOS will know my pain), especially something I can do at home, at my own pace, whenever I want. The only negative, which is not an issue for me, is that the device heats up quickly and you need to take a short break. I RECOMMEND IT!

For me, the purchase is 100% worth the money. Firstly, because I have had it for three months and I have already seen a difference by using it systematically every 15 days at first and then as recommended by the manufacturer and the app on the phone. Since the device is a bit slow, the areas I treat are the abdomen, arms, armpits, face, and bikini. As I mentioned before, the difference is truly noticeable—the hair has decreased, become finer, and grows back more sparsely. For me, it is worth it just because you can use it whenever you want without needing to book appointments and deal with clinics; instead, you have it at home and whenever you are notified that it’s time for a session, you use it and you’re done. I have been doing laser on my legs and bikini for several years but not on the other areas, and I can say that the difference is much faster and more noticeable than with the Alexandrite laser. Maybe that’s just how it worked for me. I have fair skin and thick, coarse, black hair. I recommend it and I will return at a later time to re-evaluate the results and the usability of the product.

I got the device a month and a half ago. I am brunette with fair skin. Height 1.56. I followed the instructions for the irritation test on all the areas indicated. I started simultaneously with mustache, armpits, bikini, and legs. The hair on my mustache, armpits, and legs has almost disappeared. The few that grow back are weakened and sparse. In the bikini area as well, but since I use it at level 1-2, while the others are at 3-4, they persist more, but have thinned out quite a bit, so more applications will be needed. It is the best purchase ever and I highly recommend it. I have tried in the past to go to a salon to do it, but I got bored. At home, every 10 days, and after I have showered and shaved, in half an hour at most I have done my whole body. It is very light and easy to use. Don't think about it at all. It is the solution to hair growth. I have forgotten to use a razor. I should add that after use, we apply a neutral cream to moisturize the skin. It doesn't burn, it doesn't irritate... I use it at a setting that doesn't bother me. I hope I helped.

First, let's clarify a very important thing. Neither IPL nor Alexandrite laser promises to eliminate every trace of hair! Anyone looking for something like that would do well to consult a specialist for the method of electrolysis. What IPL offers is slowing down hair growth and reducing hair density over time, but it does not eliminate it.

Now, to the point: The device is comfortable to use, with an attachment for the face and a carrying case. At this point, I should note that I stored the device in its bag, in a room with a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius, away from sunlight, and the result was that the cheap (obviously) material of the case literally melted and stuck to the device, deforming its plastic parts (see photo). At least unacceptable for a device that costs over 300 euros. I recommend that those who purchase it store it in higher quality cases.

The application is easy; you need to be careful not to miss any spots, but it doesn't take much time. As for pain, personally, the only times I felt discomfort were when I had shaved a little while before and there was some irritation because I have sensitive skin. Otherwise, you feel it as warmth, nothing more. The use on moles or tattoos is prohibited, and skin protection from the sun is recommended for the following days in the very detailed instructions provided (unfortunately, there is no Greek language in the manual). Between sessions, you continue shaving normally, which you will gradually realize you are doing less and less. The instructions say that results are achieved by doing 4 sessions every two weeks (initial phase) and then 8 maintenance sessions once a month. I have completed the initial phase and believe that more applications are needed, as there is indeed a significant reduction in hair growth, but not what other reviews describe as seeing spectacular results. Of course, skin type and hair also play a role (I have fair skin with dark hair). What I have noticed so far is a remarkable slowdown in the speed of hair growth. Hair comes out, but thinner or grows more slowly. I applied it to my chin as well, where after 30, three annoying black hairs started to appear (without - and I emphasize - any hormonal issue) and I noticed a significant difference there too. My partner also uses it on his back and has seen a significant difference with 4 applications, so he will move on to the maintenance phase.

Finally, for better planning, you can use the official Lumea IPL app, which helps you keep track of the applications and provides useful tips. It also allows you to add extra applications if you feel that the initial phase does not meet your expectations.

I will return in a few months with overall results, but for now, I believe it is a very good and safe choice, overwhelmingly cheaper than going to a salon.

Initially, in the first two applications, I didn't see any significant results, almost no difference. Maybe I didn't shave well. However, after the third application, the image is very different (10/10). The hairs have noticeably reduced. After two weeks, most areas on the calves and thighs have not produced any hair at all. For the armpits and bikini line, it took a total of 10 strokes. Before using the device, I shave, I don't do waxing. After many sessions at beauty centers, I was not satisfied. I recommend the machine to people who suffer from hirsutism, if they are willing to spend about 1 hour every 15 days. It is durable. The first two times it took me 1.5-2 hours for the whole body except for the arms. For the third time, it only took 1 hour because I did a scan, I didn't cover the whole body, I was looking for hairs. I will update my evaluation after a few more applications. So far, I am optimistic! (update 5/11) Almost a month later, the hairs have truly disappeared! In the first two weeks, I only applied it to the calves (back part), knees, and armpits, and now, a month later, I did the whole body in half an hour because there were minimal hairs in certain areas!

Hello everyone! I have had this specific IPL device since June. At first, due to my workload, I couldn't stick to the program with the sessions (even now, sometimes I might be delayed by 3-4 days). I put it aside and as soon as I found time to dedicate to it, I started at the frequency indicated by the IPL application. Although I saw some results in areas like my stomach where I had never removed hair before, other areas like bikini (full), armpits, and legs had thinned out but not as much as I would have liked. In the end, I decided to do hair removal a day or two before the session instead of shaving, which you can do before the treatment. The difference is huge now! My armpits and bikini area have barely 20 hairs left, mostly blonde ones that the laser doesn't catch (after two hair removal sessions). As for my legs, I will need another 2-3 treatments to never see hair there again. In terms of pain, I can't say it hurts that much, but it has an intensity adjuster on it, so you can adjust it to your liking. I started with level 4 and now I'm on level 5, which is the highest. Sometimes, when the treatment is close to my period, for example, I might apply a little lidocaine cream to help with the pain in the bikini area. Overall, it's worth it if you want a solution that is in your hands whenever you need it and you don't have to run to laser clinics. And let's face it, it's better to invest in this once than to go to a clinic every 3 and a half weeks. That's it! Sorry for the lengthy review! I hope I helped!

For now, I have only done a test shot and I am waiting for 24 hours to pass. I will return with my final evaluation in about a month. Everything is good; I did full body & face. I'll do it again in a week. I haven't seen results yet, obviously. However, I will continue with the updates.
Update 25/6/22 The machine is super. I have spent a ton of money on laser treatments at clinics in the past, and in the end, I have the same and even better results at home. Today I will do the 4th shot and then I will do a follow-up if needed. In the armpits, which had a huge issue since I have been shaving since I was 9 years old and I am 39 now, in summer I wanted to shave if not every day, at least every two days. Yesterday, I didn’t find any hair to shave so I would be ready for the shot today.
Update 10/7/22 Hair is gone; I am in the second week and I haven’t shaved, I haven’t done laser because it simply isn’t necessary. Minimal hair growth and like fuzz in areas that needed shaving almost every day... Logically, in a month I will do a follow-up if needed as well.
Final update of my evaluation 24/8/22 yes, I dare to say that I need a follow-up as I have 4 hairs in each armpit and 2 total in the bikini area, as well as at most 10 on each leg. If it were winter, I wouldn’t even go through the process since it’s fuzz and not the wild hairs after years of shaving, but because it’s still summer. I recommend it; value for money! The final update now 29/12/2022, I do a follow-up about every two months on the minimal fuzz-like hairs.
10/7/2023 photo of my shins that needed shaving every day or every other day before I used the machine. It should be noted that I am unshaven in the photo for over a week. I may do a follow-up, maybe not because it’s not necessary. In areas like thighs, where my hair growth was minimal anyway, I now have no hair at all! Update the photo on the carpet is February 2025. Unshaven legs for over a month. That’s all, and I’m more detailed.

I have had it for 3 years (personally, I bought it for 250 euros on sale). I have fair skin with classic brown hair. It is definitely worth its money, the only thing it needs is time and patience for the application. It has over 250,000 flashes. We have done many applications for 2 people and it still holds up! It is definitely worth it and it has results!! In the first applications, shaving is necessary, but afterwards, it is not needed. It is good to follow the schedule chronologically.

WARNING: Check the photos for whom the use is prohibited, it is very important not to buy it unnecessarily or risk your health.

Hands: I used it on my hands 4-5 times and it has reduced the hair by half, plus it is thinner and shorter!

Underarms: It also has very good results on the underarms. I have done about 10 applications without following the schedule, on random days, using a razor in between, which is not recommended because the hair becomes more resistant. Now, very few and very thin hairs come out, which I still treat.

Legs: The hair on my legs has almost disappeared! There are very few scattered and very thin hairs, which I continue to treat and can only be seen in the sunlight at the beach.

As shown in the photos, it is not suitable for very short fuzz, the laser cannot "catch" it (something that, as far as I know, also applies to professional lasers - Alexandrite, Diode, etc., which, however, are more powerful).

It has 2 nozzles, one larger and one smaller for the bikini area and face. It has intensity levels 1-5, I believe, based on the instructions, it should be applied at intensity 3-5. Personally, it hasn't hurt me. Sometimes, a slight tingling in the underarms at intensity 5. In another person, it bothers at 5, but at 4, it's fine.
