Characteristics Pycnogenol (commercial name "PYCNOGENOL®") is a powerful antioxidant ingredient derived from the extract of the bark of the Maritime Pine, Pinus pinaster variety, which grows along the southwestern coast of France. The ingredient "PYCNOGENOL®" contains as its main active ingredient (≥ 70 ± 5%) procyanidins, substances belonging to the category of flavonoids, and to a lesser extent the precursor substances of procyanidins, catechins and epicatechins, also flavonoids.
