A respected family of devout Catholics. Three sisters whose sisterhood has turned into a real battlefield, a mother who puts her faith above her daughters, and a lovingly distant father.
And an unimaginable tragedy, one that no one expects to happen within such a family and in a parish of peaceful and upright people, in the suburbs of Buenos Aires: The body of the youngest sister is found dismembered and burned in an open space. Thirty years later, the crime remains unsolved, which, according to the author, is "not uncommon in Argentina, where a lot of women are murdered, without the perpetrator ever being found."
In this particular case, however, there is another crime behind the crime. And guilt turns out to be a relative matter, depending on the side one chooses to stand on.
Seven individuals connected to the tragedy provide their own perspective, and the horrific truth (or the point of truth each of the narrators can bear to reach) will reveal the cruelty that religious fanaticism can awaken, the complicity of the fearful and indifferent, as well as the loneliness and detachment of those who choose to follow their own path, those who build their own cathedral, without God.
