The first reason that prompted and continues to prompt me to write short texts, like those included in this edition, is self-identification. Writing makes me realize where I stand and helps me understand the spaces, the "geometry" of life, and especially the distances I have from what I love and what I long for.
However, there are many things I yearn for, and perhaps these define me more than what I possess. Nostalgia, as a signpost of existence, becomes the energy that initially moves the heart and subsequently leads the mind and body to follow in the pursuit of the utopia known as unselfish and pure joy.
Nostalgia outlines what we would like to become, revealing, like a faint trace, an ideal self-portrait of ours and perhaps in this respect, it is our deepest confession. I write about visions of joy, about my artistic loves, about what I admire and honor, and I primarily write about what I long to reach as a soul that desires, as a mind that dreams, and as a body that wishes.
These texts are merely the murmurs of a tired and dreamy traveler. They are accompanied by linear lithographs and drawings made with ink that I created over time for various reasons or even without any reason at all, which also constitute a visual diary parallel to the texts.
