I am very satisfied!
Positives:
1. I didn't need to drill holes in walls and run cables since they communicate wirelessly and have batteries.
2. I then added a third camera from the same series, so I have 3 cameras in one app.
3. Very good resolution (both day and night) and many options for when to activate and record. For example, you can set it to record short one-minute clips only when it detects motion.
4. Convenient app, easy settings.
5. Even if someone breaks the camera, the recorder (control hub) is inside the house, so that's where the SD card is, meaning you don't lose the footage.
6. I connected the control hub directly with Ethernet to the router, so I believe I have a more stable connection, but someone can place it somewhere and connect via Wi-Fi.
7. The Tapo app connects satisfactorily with Samsung's SmartThings, so I managed to access the cameras from both the computer and the Samsung TV.
Negatives:
1. If the cameras are activated frequently and record, the batteries need charging approximately every 3 months. I solved this by getting a solar collector.
2. While the app is very helpful, if you connect to the cameras via SmartThings or Google Home, your options are limited; mainly, you just go in to see something live.
3. I would like there to be other models in the same series of cameras with a hub (e.g., smaller ones for inside the house in case someone has a child or cameras that rotate)

5. Ακόμη και κάποιος να σπάσει την κάμερα, το καταγραφικό (control hub) είναι μέσα στο σπίτι, συνεπώς εκεί βρίσκεται η κάρτα sd, άρα δεν χάνεις το υλικό
6. το control hub το σύνδεσα απευθείας με ethernet στο router, συνεπώς θεωρώ πως έχω πιο σταθερή σύνδεση, αλλά μπορεί κάπιοος να το βάλει κάπου και να συνδεθεί με wi-fi.
7. η εφαρμογή της Tapo συνδέεται ικανοποιητικά με το smart things της samsung, έτσι κατάφερα να έχω πρόσβαση στις κάμερες και από τον υπολογιστή και από την samsung tv.
Αρνητικά:
1. Αν οι κάμερες ενεργοποιούνται συχνά και καταγράφουν, οι μπαταρίες θέλουν φόρτιση κάθε περίπου 3 μήνες. Εγώ το έλυσα αυτό παίρνοντας ένα ηλιακό συλλέκτη.
2. Ενώ η εφαρμογή είναι πολύ εξυπηρετική, αν συνδεθείς στις κάμερες μέσω smart things ή google home, οι επιλογές σου δεν είναι πολλές, κυρίως μπαίνεις για να δεις μόνο live κάτι.
3. Θα ήθελα στην ίδια σειρά καμερών με hub, να υπάρχουν και άλλα μοντέλα (πχ πιο μικρές για μέσα στο σπίτι σε περιπτωση που κάποιος έχει παιδι ή κάμερες που περιστρέφονται.)
failure. the camera only records for 10sec and most of the time it doesn't catch my cats when they come down from their tree to go eat. I have 2 cameras from the same company which are perfect. but this particular model is a big failure
Edit: 24/6/25 so guys, my cat had surgery, and I left her on the bed to sleep, I put the camera on the bookshelf to look at the bed with the cat so I could be away from home for 2 hours. so the cat took off the bandage and left the room and the camera didn't catch any movement. I'm talking with all notifications enabled for animals, cars, people and in broad daylight!!! if I had known I wouldn't have bought it

Edit: 24/6/25 λοιπόν παιδια, η γατα μου έκανε εγχείρηση, και την άφησα στο κρεββάτι να κοιμηθεί, έβαλα την καμερα στην βιβλιοθήκη να κοιτάει το κρεββάτι με την γατα ώστε να λείψω 2 ώρες απτό σπίτι. λοιπόν η γατα έβγαλε τον επίδεσμο και έφυγε από τον χώρο και η κάμερα δεν έπιασε καμία κίνηση. μιλάμε με όλα τα notifications ενεργοποιμενα για ζώα, αμάξια, ανθρώπους και μέρα μεσημέρι!!! αν το ήξερα δεν θα την έπαιρνα

I got 5 cameras to monitor the house all around the outside!!! They work perfectly, very good resolution both day and night!! It recognizes everything! The only negative is that it recognizes things at a relatively short range and not over 4 meters!! They are rain-resistant, checked! Also, the battery runs out much faster than the manufacturer claims (of course, I use all the functions), but the problem is solved if you buy an extra battery.
Πήρα 5 κάμερες για να παρακολουθώ το σπίτι γύρω γύρω εξωτερικά !!! Δουλεύουν τέλεια, πολύ καλή ανάλυση και μέρα και νύχτα !! Αναγνωρίζει τα πάντα! Το μόνο αρνητικό είναι ότι τα αναγνωρίζει σε σχετικά μικρή εμβέλεια και όχι πάνω από 4 μέτρα !! Εχουν αντοχή στη βροχή τσεκαρισμένο! Επίσης η μπαταρία τελειώνει αρκετά πιο γρήγορα από ότι δηλώνει ο κατασκευαστής ( χρησιμοποιώ βέβαια όλες τις λειτουργίες ) αλλά το πρόβλημα λύνεται αν αγοράσεις μια μπαταρία έξτρα.
Good video quality, even at night. Average sound quality but I think it still covers most people. Easy installation and user-friendly apps. The hub should ideally be placed no more than 4-5 meters away. The battery is excellent in standby, meaning if recording is not frequently activated due to motion detection, it indeed lasts for months. Although I am quite satisfied, I give 4 stars because I would like the option for even greater sensitivity in motion detection (e.g., to pick up even the movement of plants from the wind or cats which it rarely detects).

Το hub καλό θα ήταν να τοποθετηθεί στα 4-5 μέτρα το πολύ. Η μπαταρία είναι εξαιρετική στο standby, δηλαδή αν δεν ενεργοποιείται συχνά η καταγραφή λόγω εντοπισμού κίνησης, όντως κρατάει μήνες. Αν και είμαι αρκετά ευχαριστημένος, βάζω 4 αστέρια διότι θα ήθελα την επιλογή για ακόμα μεγαλύτερη ευαισθησία στον εντοπισμό κίνησης (πχ να πιάνει μέχρι και κίνηση φυτών από τον αέρα ή γάτες τις οποίες σπάνια εντοπίζει).

I will mention one main disadvantage that I identified.
They do not record continuously. They only record clips of a few seconds.
If you want continuous recordings, you need to go for another solution.
Update
After one month of use, what I noticed is that the AI often fails to decide what to record.
The animal detection does not work properly. It records 1 out of 10 cases.
I had to install a second camera right below to avoid missing recordings

Excellent. They capture a very good signal with 2 walls between the hub and the camera. The battery after 3 months of use on the camera that is at the entrance and has at least 8 activations per day is at 58%, and the other one on the balcony with more activations is at around 48%.
Εξαιρετικές. Πιανουν πολυ καλο σημα με 2 τοιχους αναμεσα σε hub και καμερα, η μπαταρία στους 3 μήνες χρήσης στην μια καμερα που ειναι στην εισοδο και εχει τουλαχιστον 8 ενεργοποιησεις την ημέρα ειναι στο 58% και η αλλη στο μπαλκονι με περισσοτερες ενεργοποιησεις περίπου στο 48%.

Edit: 24/6/25 λοιπόν παιδια, η γατα μου έκανε εγχείρηση, και την άφησα στο κρεββάτι να κοιμηθεί, έβαλα την καμερα στην βιβλιοθήκη να κοιτάει το κρεββάτι με την γατα ώστε να λείψω 2 ώρες απτό σπίτι. λοιπόν η γατα έβγαλε τον επίδεσμο και έφυγε από τον χώρο και η κάμερα δεν έπιασε καμία κίνηση. μιλάμε με όλα τα notifications ενεργοποιμενα για ζώα, αμάξια, ανθρώπους και μέρα μεσημέρι!!! αν το ήξερα δεν θα την έπαιρνα

The Hub is not waterproof and must be powered indoors. It is also placed between the cameras and the Access Point, which requires good wireless communication. The TAPO app is good.

I got 5 cameras to monitor the house all around the outside!!! They work perfectly, very good resolution both day and night!! It recognizes everything! The only negative is that it recognizes things at a relatively short range and not over 4 meters!! They are rain-resistant, checked! Also, the battery runs out much faster than the manufacturer claims (of course, I use all the functions), but the problem is solved if you buy an extra battery.
Πήρα 5 κάμερες για να παρακολουθώ το σπίτι γύρω γύρω εξωτερικά !!! Δουλεύουν τέλεια, πολύ καλή ανάλυση και μέρα και νύχτα !! Αναγνωρίζει τα πάντα! Το μόνο αρνητικό είναι ότι τα αναγνωρίζει σε σχετικά μικρή εμβέλεια και όχι πάνω από 4 μέτρα !! Εχουν αντοχή στη βροχή τσεκαρισμένο! Επίσης η μπαταρία τελειώνει αρκετά πιο γρήγορα από ότι δηλώνει ο κατασκευαστής ( χρησιμοποιώ βέβαια όλες τις λειτουργίες ) αλλά το πρόβλημα λύνεται αν αγοράσεις μια μπαταρία έξτρα.
Good video quality, even at night. Average sound quality but I think it still covers most people. Easy installation and user-friendly apps. The hub should ideally be placed no more than 4-5 meters away. The battery is excellent in standby, meaning if recording is not frequently activated due to motion detection, it indeed lasts for months. Although I am quite satisfied, I give 4 stars because I would like the option for even greater sensitivity in motion detection (e.g., to pick up even the movement of plants from the wind or cats which it rarely detects).
Καλή ποιότητα βίντεο, ακόμα και τη νύχτα. Μέτρια ποιότητα ήχου αλλά θεωρώ πως ακόμα κι έτσι υπερκαλύπτει τους περισσότερους. Εύκολη εγκατάσταση και εύχρηστες εφαρμογές. Το hub καλό θα ήταν να τοποθετηθεί στα 4-5 μέτρα το πολύ. Η μπαταρία είναι εξαιρετική στο standby, δηλαδή αν δεν ενεργοποιείται συχνά η καταγραφή λόγω εντοπισμού κίνησης, όντως κρατάει μήνες. Αν και είμαι αρκετά ευχαριστημένος, βάζω 4 αστέρια διότι θα ήθελα την επιλογή για ακόμα μεγαλύτερη ευαισθησία στον εντοπισμό κίνησης (πχ να πιάνει μέχρι και κίνηση φυτών από τον αέρα ή γάτες τις οποίες σπάνια εντοπίζει).

As cameras, they are mediocre.
I will mention one main disadvantage that I identified.
They do not record continuously. They only record clips of a few seconds.
If you want continuous recordings, you need to go for another solution.
Update
After one month of use, what I noticed is that the AI often fails to decide what to record.
The animal detection does not work properly. It records 1 out of 10 cases.
I had to install a second camera right below to avoid missing recordings

Δεν κάνουν συνεχόμενη εγγραφή. Καταγράφουν μόνο clips κάποιον δευτερολέπτων.
Αν θέλετε συνεχόμενες εγγραφές πρέπει να πάτε σε κάποια άλλη λύση.

Αναγκάστηκα να βάλω και μια δεύτερη κάμερα ακριβώς από κάτω για να μη χάνω εγγραφές
I bought the camera set with the hub and the solar panel. The image quality is very good and the installation is simple, just like the whole tapo system. It also has a very good range, I have the camera on the rooftop without any disconnections!
Πηρα το σετ καμερα με hub και το φωτοβολταϊκό. Εχει πολυ καλη εικονα η εγκατάσταση ειναι απλή οπως ολο το συστημα tapo. Εχει επισης πολυ καλη εμβέλεια την καμερα την εχω στην ταράτσα χωρις αποσυνδέσεις!

Very good cameras, relatively easy installation and connection to the network, and their app is also quite good. They can pick up wifi through a thick wall, but they are within 5 meters from the router and their hub. They also have a siren like their hub. They are worth their money.
Πολύ καλές κάμερες, σχετικά εύκολη εγκατάσταση και σύνδεσή τους στο δίκτυο, και το app τους και αυτό αρκετά καλό. Πιάνουν το wifi μέσα από χοντρό τοίχο, αλλά είναι στα 5 μέτρα από το ρούτερ και το hub τους. ΄Εχουν και σειρήνα όπως και το hub τους. Αξίζουν τα λεφτά τους.

Excellent. They capture a very good signal with 2 walls between the hub and the camera. The battery after 3 months of use on the camera that is at the entrance and has at least 8 activations per day is at 58%, and the other one on the balcony with more activations is at around 48%.
Εξαιρετικές. Πιανουν πολυ καλο σημα με 2 τοιχους αναμεσα σε hub και καμερα, η μπαταρία στους 3 μήνες χρήσης στην μια καμερα που ειναι στην εισοδο και εχει τουλαχιστον 8 ενεργοποιησεις την ημέρα ειναι στο 58% και η αλλη στο μπαλκονι με περισσοτερες ενεργοποιησεις περίπου στο 48%.
