Horizontal Butter Barrel
Traditional name: Bottinelo
Traditional wooden vessel where milk was poured and shaken until it became butter. Two ropes were placed in the grooves of the barrel and it was hung horizontally. Then it was struck on the top and bottom sides, shaking the barrel, until the desired result was achieved.
Butter preparation instructions:
- We collect the milk and let it sour for a few days.
- We fill the barrel (maximum 1/3 of the barrel) with the milk.
- Then we hang it and start striking it from both sides so that the contents are agitated for a considerable time.
- The final result is pieces of fat (butter) and buttermilk.
With a narrow neck. It is made of wood.
