The Tvardy step drill, with diameters ranging from 4 to 20 mm, is used for drilling metal, thin-walled steel sheets and plastics. It is made of HSS M2 high-speed steel and coated with TiAlN (titanium aluminium nitride).

The diameter increments are 2 mm, and the markings are easy to read. The TiAlN coating increases wear resistance and allows for higher cutting speeds. It is designed for difficult-to-machine materials and high thermal stress conditions when cooling is limited or unavailable. The drill is packaged in a blister pack with a hanging hole.
