The new edition of the book "Mechanical Installations of Buildings" is aimed at students and professionals in the field of technical hydraulic installations and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as oil installations and gas networks.
The contents of the book have been adapted to the corresponding curricula. They cover the entire syllabus of vocational schools for two-year or multi-year studies and comply with the existing technical regulations in this professional sector, as well as with current legislation and relevant technical specifications, particularly the EN, ELOT, and DIN standards. Topics related to Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety are also taken into account in the corresponding thematic units.
This book is divided into 16 chapters. Chapters 1 to 15 address 15 Teaching Fields (credit units according to EKVET) related to the Technology of Building Mechanical Installations. Chapter M includes Studies - Projects with solutions, as well as other project examples and exercises that exceed the narrow scope of the individual teaching fields.
The structure of the book follows a standard assignment of integrated projects, which are described in Chapter M before the index of terms in the book. The project is described based on a cross-section through a multi-story building and includes all the necessary knowledge areas of hydraulic installations and heating systems. The chapters of the book deal with sections of this standard project. Each chapter of the book is associated with an icon, which is depicted in the margin of each page and refers to the contents of the book. This way, quick and easy access to the contents is achieved.
Teaching methodology: In each teaching field, a project assignment as a client order precedes the exercises. The thematic areas of each teaching field are categorized into technological, mathematical, design, and work programming subjects. In this way, the teaching is adapted to practical requirements. Phrases to be memorized and mathematical formulas, as well as questions for assessing learning, have been printed in color for distinction.
More than a thousand colorful photos and images, tables, and diagrams facilitate the independent study of the thematic fields by the reader. The teaching fields are completed with the solutions to the individual problems of the corresponding project assignment and its implementation. Additionally, practical applications serve to reinforce and practice the taught material.
In the last chapter of the book (M), integrated project studies are described, where the total knowledge acquired by the reader from the previous chapters is applied. The book "Mechanical Installations of Buildings" is aimed at students and trainees of Vocational and Technical Schools, as well as interns in technical companies and businesses. It is also suitable for Institutes and Colleges, Schools of Technologists, and Engineering faculties for the renewal and reinforcement of basic knowledge and for lifelong training structures.
Furthermore, it can be used by professionals for quick updates or as a source of information. This book may also resonate with individuals preparing for studies or seeking answers to technical issues in the context of their internships.
