Description

Description

The "Natural Gas Installations in Greece" are constructed according to the minimum requirements of the European standard EN 1775 "Gas distribution, gas piping for buildings - MOP - 5 bar, General operational guidelines." The Greek standardization organization ELOT has accepted the above standard, which is therefore referred to in our country as ELOT EN 1775.

Based on the European standard, two gas regulations have been legislated in our country - Government Gazette 963/B`/15.7.2003 and Government Gazette 1257/B`/3.9.2003, which apply to the installation, operation, and maintenance of natural gas and liquefied gas networks. According to the above regulations, any reference to requirements according to the national standard ELOT and the German DIN is indicative, as any newer applicable European standard (EN) or standard from a member state of the European Union is in effect.

All the regulations referred to in the book as DIN are in effect and are also covered by the Greek regulations as they are compliant with the European standard. The content of this book has been developed and illustrated according to the requirements of the common European regulation and the requirements of teaching technological subjects.

This book serves as a teaching aid and does not replace the regulations that every licensed gas technician must always refer to. Upon completion of the teaching of the book "Gas Fuel Installations," students will be able to:

  • identify the types of gas fuel installations
  • know the types of pipes used in gas fuel installations
  • understand the rules governing the configuration of a gas fuel installation
  • recognize the safety provisions of a gas fuel installation
  • be able to construct an internal gas fuel installation
  • know the methods of installing gas fuel devices
  • understand the ventilation requirements for gas fuel devices
  • know the methods for venting exhaust gases from the devices
  • be able to install natural gas devices in an installation
  • understand liquefied gas installations
  • be able to construct a liquefied gas installation
  • be able to maintain gas fuel installations
  • be able to calculate the cost of a gas fuel installation.
