It is a great pleasure to translate and edit the workbook by Catherine Faherty, which is published in this form only in the Greek language.

An excellent professional, creative and particularly dedicated, as stated by Gary B. Mesibov, former director of the TEACCH Program at the University of Chapel Hill in North Carolina, Catherine has benefited individuals with autism of different ages and abilities, their families, as well as educators and healthcare professionals with her innovative ideas.

My collaboration with her from 1997 to the present is particularly creative. From my training in the TEACCH Program where she worked, to the organization of her first presentation on autism spectrum disorders in Greece in 1998 and many seminars afterwards, to the translation and publication of her books in the Greek language, our collaboration is ongoing and stable, just like our shared interest in autism spectrum disorders.

Recognizing that these disorders may be more common than we imagine today, as evidenced by the recent impressive changes in epidemiological data, we are attempting to publish this book for the benefit of all those interested in ASD: for individuals with autism and their parents, educators, and therapists.
