The purpose of the book is to trace the actions of Eleftherios Venizelos through the Minutes of the National Defense Committee of Constantinople (EEC) from 1920-1922. The research conducted so far has led to uncertain approaches due to the fragmented use of sources regarding this subject.
Specifically, the manuscript Archives of Strait (Folder 19) of ELLIA investigated the "Report for the EEC," which attributed the actions of the EEC to its Political Office, led by General Georgios Kondylis, who was also presented as its founder. However, the parallel reading of the manuscript Minutes of the EEC from the GAK, which was attempted for the first time in this specific work, proves that the EEC was founded by the pro-Venizelists middle and upper bourgeoisie of Constantinople, who had embraced the ideology of the "unredeemed," had the support of the Patriarchate as a national factor, and received instructions from Eleftherios Venizelos himself, whose plans included, as the ultimate form of salvation for Asia Minor, the establishment of an autonomous Minor Asia State.
