Description

The Wehrmacht widely used reconnaissance and support vehicles during World War II, and this book aims to showcase the full range of both categories, using over 200 rare images and descriptive text, following the classic 'Images of War' series.

Both tracked and wheeled vehicles were used for reconnaissance and preparation. These included light tanks, mainly the Pz.Kpfw.I, armored vehicles such as the six-wheeled and eight-wheeled Sd.Kfz.231,232,233,234 and their variants, 263, the Sd.Kfz.221,222,223,234 and 247, as well as motorcycles like the famous BMW R75 and the Zundapp KS750. In conjunction with their reconnaissance role, whenever possible, they engaged in confrontations with similar or light forces.

Support vehicles, such as the tracked Sd.Kfz.2 Kettenkrad and the well-known Sd.Kfz.251 semi-tracks, were used in a support role, often attached to armored units to clear enemy positions that had been overrun.

The book fills a gap, describing the full range of this equipment, including the variety of weapons and engines, as well as the crews who carried out these missions.
