With the well-known dual-layer quick release plates of its predecessor, the RS 4 makes mounting and balancing your camera a breeze. The horizontal plate has been newly designed for faster transitions to native vertical shooting. A fine-tuning knob adjusts the tilt axis to move your camera forward or backward. The top plate has added mounting guides for secure camera placement.
The improved operational performance, inherent vertical shooting, and expanded accessory ecosystem make the DJI RS 4 a powerful tool for mirrorless camera shooting. The gimbal weighs only about 2.4 pounds and has a capacity of 6.6 pounds, capable of supporting the build of your compact camera. Teflon-coated axes reduce friction for a smoother balancing and operational experience. Other user-friendly features include a fine-tuning knob, auto-locking OLED screen, and RSA communication port for use with expanded accessories.
Second Generation Quick Release Plate Design
With the well-known dual-layer quick release plates of its predecessor, the RS 4 makes mounting and balancing your camera a breeze. The horizontal plate has been newly designed for faster transitions to native vertical shooting. A fine-tuning knob adjusts the tilt axis to move your camera forward or backward. The top plate has added mounting guides for secure camera placement.
Compatibility
For a complete list of compatible cameras, refer to the latest compatibility information on the DJI website.
Second Generation Automated Axis Locks
When the gimbal is turned off, you can press and hold the power button and the three axes will unlock while the gimbal automatically extends, allowing you to start working in just two seconds. Press the power button once and the axes automatically lock and enter standby mode, making movement or storage significantly more efficient. The second iteration of this design has created smaller gaps when locked to further reduce counterweight shake.
RSA communication port
The RSA communication port allows you to integrate Ronin series accessories into your gimbal setup. Add accessories specifically for Ronin or third-party manufacturers with control capabilities for switching between different shooting configurations. The DJI RS SDK protocol will enable third-party manufacturers and other developers to create future custom functions for the RS 4.
Wireless shutter control
With the Dual-Mode Bluetooth application, the RS 4 supports wireless shutter control, saving time and effort with every use. After the initial Bluetooth pairing, you can control video and photo shooting by simply pressing the record button on the stabilizer. Cameras that were previously paired can reconnect automatically after the first use, eliminating the need for a camera control cable.
New DJI Focus Pro Motor
Combine the RS 4 with the new Focus Pro Motor using the designated USB-C port. The motor features a 30% increased speed and allows you to focus your lens via a dial and zoom via a joystick.
Complete Controls
- By simply sliding the new gimbal function switch, you can switch between Pan follow, Pan and Tilt follow, and FPV modes. The FPV mode option is also customizable to 3D Roll 360, Portrait, or Custom, allowing you to adjust your equipment and get started as quickly as possible. Other smart features include motion-lapse, track, and panorama.
- The trigger button can be customized to FPV mode, which makes the three axes follow the direction of the handle's movement when held down.
Fourth Generation RS Stabilization Algorithm
Powered by a next-generation stabilization algorithm, the RS 4 provided improved stability compared to the RS 3, effortlessly handling vertical shooting, fast paces, and low-angle shots.
Automatic OLED Screen Lock
The RS 4 is equipped with a stable OLED touchscreen with a new auto-lock feature. Once locked, the screen will display the current movements of the counterweight and joystick at low brightness to prevent accidental switching and save battery.
Comprehensive Monitoring and Control
Remotely adjust the camera's exposure directly in the Ronin app or control the gimbal with the virtual joystick to gain a comprehensive monitoring and control experience. With the Ronin image transmitter, a smartphone can be used as a motion controller for the remote control of the RS 4 gimbal for more flexible and dynamic camera movements.
Enhanced Battery and Fast Charging
The RS 4 battery grip features a cartridge design, making it easier to swap batteries and smaller for storage. It can even be charged separately from the gimbal. The new battery grip provides extended operating time of up to 12 hours, enough for continuous shooting all day long. It supports PD 18W fast charging with a charging time of just 2.5 hours. It can even be used while charging to keep the RS 4 powered almost indefinitely.
