Star Anise or Illicium verum or badiam (badian), is a spice that has a flavor similar to anise. It is obtained from the star-shaped pericarp of the fruits harvested just before ripening. It is imported from northeastern Vietnam, where the best quality star anise originates.

General method of infusion: Place a "star" in water (200-300ml), boil for 5-10 minutes, strain, and drink.
