TURMERIC (CURCUMA) FROM INDIA
Turmeric, or curcuma, is a plant of South Asia. When its root is dried and ground, it produces a vibrant orange-yellow powder that is used in dishes and sweets in the cuisines of Bangladesh, India, Iran, and Pakistan. It is a key ingredient in curries.
It is produced in the Nizamabad area of the Telangana region in Central India. The climate is tropical savanna with most of the rainfall occurring between June and October, ensuring turmeric of exceptional quality.

In South Africa, it adds a golden color to boiled white rice, while in Vietnam, it is used in many dishes and soups.
