Cyprus, 1974. The Turkish invasion deprives Katerina ChrysoStomou, a young girl from Kyrenia, of her village, her home, and perhaps even her father.
Together with her twin brother Michalis, they board a ship traveling to Greece. Other children are traveling with them. Hundreds of girls and boys, without parents, without other family members, are heading to Piraeus with the hope of a new life, in order to be accommodated in institutions and families and to take up the thread of a peaceful life again.
Katerina and Michalis find themselves in a country they only know from books and stories. However, life has more surprises in store for them. Will they be able to face the challenges and obstacles that stand in front and between them? Will they make it together?
