With simplified text, illustrations, and language exercises, the printed edition includes guidelines for accessing online supportive materials. In these Penguin Readers editions, Roald Dahl's stories have been aligned with the CEFR framework A1 to A2+, across four levels. Each book also has a Lexile measure.

The Twits, a Level 2 Reader, is A1+ on the CEFR framework. The sentences contain at most two clauses, introducing future tenses "will" and "going to," and continuous tenses for future meaning, as well as comparatives and superlatives. It is well supported by illustrations, which appear on most pages.
