I have had this machine for two months. It's worth every euro. The coffee is excellent, the use of the machine is easy, and its maintenance is also easy. It also gives you the option not to use a filter, but I imagine it will require more frequent descaling. The frother jug is easy to use, and the cleaning program is also easy (cleaned with the powder for cleaning the coffee grinding unit that I mentioned above). It may look like plastic, but it is not at all, even the plastic parts like the water inlet and outlet nozzle, for example, are of good quality. I am very satisfied with the purchase; it is the best I could get for my home. Now I get coffee from home to go outside, not the other way around.

One year after the purchase, it's time for a review. It's the second Gaggia in my possession. The first one, of the same level, was purchased in 2005 and left us years after 13 years of operation and over 10,000 coffees. The transition to this one was expected after some experiments with lower quality machines. It's worth every last euro. The quality is excellent. You need to be meticulous in maintenance if you want to always have the same result. We make about 10 coffees a day. Every 2 weeks or so, we clean the mechanism with lukewarm water as the instructions say. Descaling and cleaning the grinder with special chemicals and Cafiza tablets when the machine asks for it. Cleaning the milk container about once a week. The milk frother cannot be compared to any homemade machine that has passed through my hands. It is the most effortless but also quality in milk frothing. When combined with a good coffee, the result is excellent. In our case, the amortization is in time. The maintenance cost is low if you buy commercial descaling packages. In general, for home use, I don't think there is anything better.

As for the negatives, I put the slightly higher noise and the way the water tank comes out, which is solved with a little grease that comes with the machine.

UPDATE 2 years later: It continues its flawless operation with proper maintenance. After over 3000 coffees, the quality remains the same as the first day. Meticulous maintenance when needed. I don't use its water filter because I have osmosis in the water supply and it has no issues.

Owner since summer 2020. Already about 10 kilograms of usage.

Positives:
-I enjoy my espresso without having to leave the house.
-Several drink options that make guests feel special.
-I can't remember how I survived without it while working from home, since February.
-It's a "press the button to make your coffee" kind of thing, but also customizable for the more demanding ones.
-If you have Nespresso and you go there, it's a huge upgrade with cheaper coffee and a much smaller environmental footprint (no more bags of aluminum capsules).
-The coffee result is very good. It's not the 10/10 you would give to a fancy coffee with its own roasted variety, super barista, and equipment. But it's definitely honest and much better than some 1-2 euro coffee.

Negatives:
-It requires maintenance and the spare parts are expensive. For example, the package with filters, cleaning tablets for the extraction mechanism, and descaling liquid cost more than 50+. However, I believe they last a long time. With 10 doses per day, you might get 1-2 years out of them.
-Someone at home needs to take the time to read the manual and deal with it once a week for cleaning.
-It's all plastic, which gives the impression that it's not the most sturdy thing.
-The milk mechanism requires love and care. And puzzle-solving skills. Many pieces to clean and put back correctly. Hoping you won't lose anything.
-It makes noise.
-I feel a slight insecurity regarding maintenance/warranty if needed. Without any particular reason. Maybe a lack of information.

In a few words: It's worth it. If you drink 5-6 doses of espresso per day, you'll understand. Everyone who drinks coffee at home will appreciate it. And so will the guests. But everything comes at a price. It's expensive and it needs someone who will take care of it, like a fairly autonomous pet :)

I would buy it again.

UPDATE 2022 - 2 years later:
I've flirted many times with the idea of seeing/buying something else as a coffee lover. But guys, what has this machine been doing for 2 years? I've stopped drinking coffee outside. It has paid for itself four times over. Besides the milk jug's suction cup breaking (which I fixed with insulation tape and it works fine), no other issues. Average use is 5 coffees per day. Obviously, I am regular with the required maintenance.

I give it 2 stars, the reason being the quality of the coffee it makes and the price-quality ratio. Initially, I can say that I have tried almost all the coffee blends on the grinder along with good coffees like illy, buondi, hausbrandt, and the conclusion is that this coffee maker CANNOT produce good coffee comparable to good coffee shops. I will not mention the names of the shops so as not to be considered advertising, and it may also be unfair to compare a machine worth 750 euros with ones worth 5 and 10 thousand. However, the problem with the coffee it makes is that it comes out watery, therefore it lacks body and aroma. If you drink (frothy) cappuccino like me, it will come out slightly better than regular coffee, and as for ice cubes, there's no point in adding them, even if you use large ones, they will only dissolve and you'll have a taste of half water, half coffee. I freeze it directly in the freezer. Unfortunately, I can say that I regret the purchase, I have had better coffee from non-automatic coffee makers with a separate grinder, of course, costing less than 100 euros.
