Takom: AH-64E Apache Guardian Attack Helicopter in 1:35 scale
The McDonnell-Douglas (Boeing) AH-64 helicopter was selected as the winner in the competition against Bell's YAH-63 in December 1976. The name Apache was attached to the helicopter in 1981.
This highly efficient machine features:
- Four-blade rotors powered by two General Electric T700-701 turbine engines with a capacity of 1696 horsepower.
- Residual wings equipped with conventional trailing edge flaps.
- Tail plane that improves longitudinal steering.
- Armored cabin with seats for two people, with the pilot's seat located at the back and the weapon operator/gunner in the front.
The TADS and PNVS systems are key for the universal usage of the helicopter, offering tracking and targeting capabilities for the mission.
