Review for the 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4GHz

    Positives:

    1) The controller feels very good and is extremely comfortable in the hand.

    2) It has the best vibration I have seen in a controller.

    3) The docking station is beautiful and practical, with LED lighting underneath when charging.

    4) It uses Hall effect joysticks, which offers precision and durability.
    5) It also has Bluetooth.

    Negatives:

    1) It is generally difficult to understand what you are buying from this company, as the models have confusing names. For example, this particular controller also has Bluetooth, even though it is called 2.4GHz and not Wireless. In addition, it is not clear whether it belongs to the first or second generation.

    2) The company has two different softwares, V1 and V2. I was not able to connect it to V2 and it is not clear if it should work. V1 has some features but they are limited and a bit confusing. To set up the functions of the buttons underneath the controller, it took a whole afternoon and the use of Autohotkey.

    3) It does not have Halo triggers, only joysticks. The Ultimate 2 seems to have this feature.

    Conclusion:
Despite the minor negatives, given that – apart from the “C” model – it is the company’s cheapest, I am quite satisfied with the purchase and would recommend it.
