Vendetta crimes that occupied Greek public opinion from 1920 until the end of the 20th century. Real cases of vendetta that took place in Crete, Mani, and the rest of Greece, many of which had shocked the entire nation. The book begins with a brief history of vendetta from antiquity to modern times, where the roots of the custom of self-justice are identified. 

It examines how the unwritten law of blood started in Crete, explains with examples the Cretan concept of "sasmos" and discusses "gdikiomos" and the "xevgaltes" in Mani. Finally, it mentions other countries and regions where vendetta flourished: Cyprus, Italy, Albania, Serbia, Spain, Corsica, etc. "I wrote this book to leave a legacy for future generations about the crimes of vendetta and to highlight the barbarity of this custom, which once dominated many areas of Greece, mainly in Crete and Mani. 

In Mani, everything indicates that this inhumane tradition, which wiped out families, deserted entire villages, and sent countless victims to the grave, has definitively disappeared, as it has in the rest of Greece. In contrast, in Crete, unfortunately, it has not disappeared and is not likely to disappear – unless some government dares to take measures to remove all weapons from homes in Crete, especially in the mountainous areas, and to punish those who carry weapons exemplarily. Only then will there be hope to stop the bloodshed."
