The operating principle of the PIR (Passive Infra-Red) sensor is the detection of movement of warmer sources within their field. The effectiveness of detection is affected by the amount of heat emitted by the moving object, its size, as well as the direction and speed of its movement. An important factor is also the environmental temperature. The PIR sensor shows lower performance when: - the temperature of the moving object is close to the environmental temperature.
