The Perloflor perlite is an inorganic, argillaceous silicate mineral with 3-4% crystalline water and volcanic origin.
It has grains with a diameter of 1-5mm and is produced exclusively for use in agricultural applications. It is very lightweight (80-110 Kgr/m³) and can retain 3-4 times its weight in water (250-300 liters Water /m³). It is completely free from diseases and weed seeds, while also serving as a temperature stabilizer. It is chemically inert and has a neutral pH (6.5-7.5). It does not rot or melt, thus having an unlimited lifespan.
Applications of perlite:
- Agricultural uses
- Soil improvement
- Seedling production
- Propagation of cuttings
- Ingredient in mixtures for growing ornamental plants
- Preservation, rooting, and packaging of bulbs
