The Diablo was produced between 1990 and 2001. During this period, Lamborghini introduced many variations on the Diablo concept, the first being the Diablo VT (Visco Traction), which features an all-wheel-drive system. The Diablo was intended to become the worthy successor to the famous Miura and Countach. This new supercar was wide, low, and futuristic. Like its predecessors, the Diablo soon became a favorite among car enthusiasts worldwide. The Diablo models helped to create the Lamborghini legend and sold well. Nearly 3,000 units of all series and variations found their buyers during these eleven years of development. Lamborghini's managers had desired a top speed of at least 320 km/h, and the engineers made this wish a reality: With a top speed of 325 km/h and acceleration from 0-100 in 4.5 seconds, the Diablo claimed the top position in the field of super sports cars. It developed its power through rear-wheel drive and came with a newly developed V12 engine. Four valves per cylinder, electronically controlled multi-point injection, and a displacement of 5.7 liters helped produce a maximum horsepower of 492 HP.
