The Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G meaning 'Geländewagen', or off-road vehicle) was developed by the German car manufacturer during the 1970s through a collaboration between Daimler-Benz and the Austrian company Steyr-Daimler-Puch. The 'G' series cars were immediately characterized by their exceptional durability, reliability, and very good off-road capabilities thanks to the design and 4x4 drive. The car has been continuously improved and developed, and today it is the longest-running model in the Mercedes Benz production line. Over the years, its main design features have changed very little, thus proving the value and validity of the original design concept. One of the most successful versions was the MB G230, which achieved significant commercial success in many countries. Today, the G series is positioned in the market as a premium luxury SUV, which contrasts sharply with its original off-road role.
