  • An overpriced microphone
The Motiv (Shure's app) freezes and has issues
The DSP effects are good for the first time. I had a problem with denoise after continuous vocal recording; it applied a huge high pass and ruined the take
Difficulty connecting with programs like Cubase & Ableton (I had to download ASIO drivers and it was a mess. For vocal production, it's not plug and play)
The sound didn't impress me because it's deep and very bassy (after all, it's for podcasts where that helps)
It's heavy so it needs a good stand, 0.5+ kg
It doesn't handle "p, s, f, ts, ft" sounds well

Overall, for vocal production, STAY AWAY especially if you want the built-in DSP effects that only work with USB

For podcasting, it's perfect because it's plug and play, you can record through Motive, and you don't keep vocals stationary for long periods

I think it's one of the best microphones for podcasting and working from home. Its application automatically does things that you usually want a console for, like limiting and compression.

It has both a USB port and an XLR port, so it works everywhere.

I upgraded from Audio Technica 2020 and I am very satisfied
