However, if your emphasis is on it being waterproof, I would recommend the JBL Clip 5 because it still has the sound quality of a JBL. Also, I had it permanently hanging on the deck for weeks where there was a lot of humidity and nothing happened to it!!!

    I have been using JBL for years at work, I had the first square one, then I got the Clip 3 and a few months ago the Clip 5.
    I think the 3 had a much clearer sound than the 5.
    The 5 is quite a bit more powerful than the 3.
    Unfortunately, the 5 does not have a protective cover on the charging port, resulting in it getting shavings from the wheel and the port burning out as soon as I plugged in the charger.
    The two previous models I mentioned lasted many years without any problems and of course the protective cover on the charging port was a big plus.

    The quality in general is what makes the first impression! Updated bluetooth 5.3, button for connecting with other speakers. JBL Portable app through which another speaker can be connected to create stereo, display of battery %, software update equalizer (eq).. Finally, regarding the performance.. It plays loud for what it is, at maximum the lows disappear and distortion begins.. But let's not forget that we are talking about a single-direction speaker 7 RMS, not a HiFi sound system. For 53€, it's worth it.

    Very good little speaker. The clip is very convenient both at home and on the sailboat where I used it. It doesn't have the same powerful sound as the JBL Flip 5. We had both in the group and I can compare. The JBL Flip 5 has a clearer and more powerful sound. However, if your emphasis is on it being waterproof, I would recommend the JBL Clip 5 because it still has the sound quality of a JBL. Also, I had it permanently hanging on the deck for weeks where there was a lot of humidity and nothing happened to it!!!

    I have been using JBL for years at work, I had the first square one, then I got the Clip 3 and a few months ago the Clip 5.
    I think the 3 had a much clearer sound than the 5.
    The 5 is quite a bit more powerful than the 3.
    Unfortunately, the 5 does not have a protective cover on the charging port, resulting in it getting shavings from the wheel and the port burning out as soon as I plugged in the charger.
    The two previous models I mentioned lasted many years without any problems and of course the protective cover on the charging port was a big plus.

    Had Clip 4 before this one, pretty decent with upgraded battery life - so far so good. We will see how it runs in time.
