Spectrum HIPS-X filament is used as a support material for ABS components in FDM/FFF printing and dissolves in a citric acid solution (D-Limonene) after printing is complete. It can also be used as a primary material for components that undergo less shrinkage during processing than ABS, as well as for industrial applications and prototypes.

Printed objects have a matte surface with less visible layer lines. The material is impact-resistant, absorbs and dissipates energy, and can be machined by drilling, sanding, turning, or milling. It is also suitable for large-format prints.
