The Axagon EE35-GTR enclosure houses a 3.5" SATA hard drive and connects to a computer via USB-C. The USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface supports transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps, while UASP enables faster data transfer. The ribbed aluminium casing helps cool and protect the drive, while the internal frame holds it securely in place.

It supports S.M.A.R.T. monitoring, sleep mode and automatic drive shutdown after 10 minutes of inactivity. It features Hot Plug and Plug and Play functionality, as well as a power button. The LED indicator stays lit while connected and flashes during data transfer.

    + The package includes two rubber strips that you stick on the side that rests on the desk, so it “hooks” and doesn’t move with an accidental push that could knock it under the desk (it happened to me)
    - The USB cable from the end that connects to the Axagon has a C3 connection. On the other end it’s USB A, but it comes with a USB A to C3 adapter. For some people the adapter may work. For me it didn’t. Using it caused an I/O problem in Disk Management when I tried to format the drive I put inside (WD Red Pro 8TB). I let it cool down, removed the adapter, connected it directly to the laptop’s USB A port (without a hub), and everything was fine! I formatted it and loaded 5TB onto it!
