A small but very useful accessory is the paddle leash.

You can use it in two ways:

• 1st Way: Tie the paddle to the kayak. Pass one end through a point on the kayak that is convenient and the other end onto the paddle. This way, the paddle will always be close to the kayak.
• 2nd Way: Tie the paddle to your hand. Pass one end onto the paddle and use the adjustable Velcro strap on your wrist. This way, the paddle is secured to your hand.
