The shampoo is excellent. Reliable ingredients, a formula that brought results very quickly. His skin had a serious infection, clumps of hair were falling out. He had lost almost all his fur. The hairs of each fallen clump had wax stuck to their ends, that's how infectious the skin condition was. And he recovered 100% (Note that he also took antifungal pills). Since then I use all Virbac shampoos with rinsing, but this is the one I prefer the most. The new packages are confirmed authentic after contacting Virbac. I'm writing here to make the following known: The new 250ml packages have thin silicone sheets at the nozzle of the cap, resulting in a fixed amount of shampoo coming out and you having no control at all. Cut the silicone sheets (with pointed scissors it's very easy, see photo) and you'll be able to control the amount you want. It's so worth it! Bonus: I've never seen a shampoo that makes the fur so fluffy after washing, so very soft. If anyone knows the scientific explanation for this, please leave a comment in the questions, it's impressive!

    Update 30-09-2025
Everything above still applies plus one more thing: For those suffering from scalp itching, severe oiliness, silicone buildup, choose it with your eyes closed even if it's marketed as a "dog shampoo".
DO NOT be negatively influenced and choose it!
You will immediately feel relief and have the most beautiful and clean hair and scalp you've ever had!!!
The result is fragrant, light (fluffy), clean!!!
Note for human use: Definitely use a mask and leave-in afterwards and wash every day (at most every day and a half), not every 3, 5, or 6 days.

Second Update (new) January 22, 2026:

I was wondering from a scientific point of view how it makes hair so clean and fluffy and I asked Gemini AI, showing the LLM the ingredient list of Virbac's Sebolytic. (Ingredients: Aqua, sodium laureth sulfate, coco betaine, glycotechnology (rhamnose, galactose, mannose, lauryl glucoside), defensin technology (peumus boldus leaf extract, spiraea ulmaria extract), vitamin B6, sodium salicylate, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, piroctone olamine, zinc gluconate, tea tree oil.)

    This is Gemini's answer:

Why it is different from "Typical" Shampoos

Most mass-market shampoos use Polyquaterniums or Silicones to make hair "soft." These ingredients work by coating the hair, which ultimately adds weight. The Sebolytic formula uses sugars and plant Defensins (small cationic peptides) to manage the hair surface instead of coating it. Essentially, it keeps the hairs separate instead of "sticking" them together (Shampoos with ingredients that stick hairs together give a soft and smooth but flat result. Sebolytic does not).

    End of Update.
