It's wonderful!!! For 7 years we had given up umbrellas and had an awning with 2 poles from a well-known company. The negatives of the awning, however, were that sometimes the wind would knock it down on us all the time, it would block our view of the sea in order to have shade, if there was wind we were a little late setting it up because of filling the sandbags in which we had to adjust the ropes, and it had medium capacity, because we are 3 people with chairs, a little table, children's toys, etc..
This choice we made this year is THE BEST THING EVER!!! It opens and closes very easily, it doesn't care about the wind, if there are strong winds you fill the bags and put in the stakes and it doesn't move at all!! It is big, spacious, well ventilated, makes good shade and the important thing is that finally when we sit we see the sea!! It has two additional covers for the sides and when the sun changes position you place them on whichever side you want to have shade. On the floor it doesn't have fabric, so if something spills you don't have to clean anything! It is WONDERFUL basically because it opens and closes very easily. Otherwise I wouldn't have chosen it, even though it has only positives!
As for the money, it pays for itself immediately. We ONLY on our vacations go to beach bars and pay for sunbeds. The minimum that sunbeds have now is €20 (and that's putting it mildly). So €20 × 8 days of vacation = €160, so it paid for itself and we also got to keep the tent!! On vacation we wanted more comfort and paid for sunbeds, but this year we have Hupa!!!

It’s the best thing for the beach. Recently I had a Maui umbrella bought for €50, which was destroyed after 20 swims and strong wind.
I went for this sunshade after a lot of searching.

1. It’s automatic, and you can set it up by yourself in a minute if the wind is blowing a bit more.

2. It provides very good shade on its own, and if you add the two extra shades it becomes insanely good; you can change their position super easily depending on the sun’s position and attach them with little hooks.
Even if you don’t want to close them completely, you can attach them only from the top and let the wind create extra shade.

3. Two people underneath are very comfortable, with chairs, a little table, and bags. Easily 4 people.

4. I didn’t have strong winds, but up to 3–4 Beaufort it held up like a champ with just the sandbags (it also has extra stakes if needed).

It may seem like a more expensive option than a simple umbrella, but once you buy it, you’ll never think about going to the beach with a simple umbrella again.

I think it's awesome and this type of beach shading solution will dominate in the coming years. I've had it for one summer (2025).

- The biggest advantage:
It opens and closes in less than a minute and one person is enough, if there are two then it's even faster and easier.

- What about wind - gusts:
With the four bags in the corners filled with stones, it is quite stable and doesn't go anywhere, no matter how much you worry when the top part moves a lot. In strong gusts (Cyclades), what happens is that the four corners (bags) gradually move (a few centimeters each time), so from time to time you need to pull it back into place.

- How many people fit:
Without using the side cloth (it has 2 cloths, 1 for the long side and 1 for the short side) it doesn't provide a lot of shade since the top part is relatively much smaller than the base (the base is very large) and due to the sun's position the shade goes to the sides.
Of course, by putting on the two side cloths (creating an angle towards the sun), the shade is much larger and comfortably fits 4 people. We lounged up to 6 people relatively comfortably.
Of course, with the side cloths it is more sensitive to strong wind and moves gradually.

- The material (cloth) is very good in terms of sun radiation and provides good shade.

- I believe it is much better than the tents with poles and the bags that pull the cloth at the four corners, because it takes up as much space as 4-6 people would need, while the others with poles take up way too much space on the beach, to an excessive degree.

- I hope it is made from good materials and lasts me for years.
