Nice illustrations like photographs. The content generally refers to the maritime profession, the life of a sailor, but also to the land-based professions that support ships (e.g., classification societies, etc.). It places a bit more emphasis on containers compared to other types of ships in the illustrations it includes (e.g., it presents cargo operations at a container terminal, while there are no corresponding illustrations for bulk carriers, tankers, etc.). Additionally, it dedicates one page to piracy and one to the environmental footprint (I say, soon it will also talk to us about CII & EEXI...), which seemed a bit excessive for the ages it targets. Personally, I would dedicate a page to management companies and the job positions there (Tech, Ops, M&S, Crew, Superintendents, etc.), which do not seem to be included, so that kids can get ideas. I might also add an illustration showing the interior of the engine room or the bridge. I recognize that I am a bit strict due to my relevant professional background. Overall, very positive impressions. It is an excellent start for someone to explain to a child what exactly a ship does. I particularly appreciated the historical references, such as the Athenian trireme, the revival of Greek shipping, the Liberty ships, etc.
