Description

Discover the spirit that redefined Greek tradition. Tsilili Aged Tsipouro is an ode to patience and the art of distillation, a spirit from Thessaly that combines the strength of the land with the finesse of long-term aging.

Why Tsilili Aged Tsipouro is a Top Experience:

  • 5 Years of Patience: While most tsipouro ages for 1-2 years, the Tsililis family waits at least 5 years, allowing the spirit to develop a rare, robust character.
  • The Magic of Vinsanto Barrels: Maturation in French and American barrels that previously held red wines and Vinsanto imparts unique aromas of honey, raisin, and bergamot to the tsipouro.
  • Traditional "Slow" Distillation: The use of small copper stills ensures that only the "heart" of the distillate ends up in your bottle, preserving all the sweetness of the Thessalian grape marc.
  • Velvety Sensation: Despite its powerful body, contact with wood has smoothed every edge, offering a gentle finish reminiscent of fine Cognac or aged Rum.

Your Flavorful Journey:

  • Nose: A mosaic of dried plums, citrus peels, and sweet spices such as nutmeg.
  • Palate: Soft and rich. Chocolate and vanilla blend with raisin in a perfectly balanced flavor palette.
  • Finish: Elegant, long, and aromatic, with the wood leaving a noble aftertaste.

Excellent aesthetic bottle, that's why I got it, for the tsipouro I don't have an opinion yet as I haven't opened it. But the bottle is a small work of art.

It will lose one star for its price alone. I think it would be okay up to 25-30€. Otherwise, it is an interesting drink with the dryness of a whiskey but with a grape flavor! I think in the future we will see exceptional drinks of this kind with greater aging...

Very nice aged. If someone has an oak barrel (5 liters or 10 liters) and fills it with a good tsipouro, after a year they will have a similar result!

Excellent! I tried it at a bar and immediately bought it for home. It pairs exceptionally well with a little dark chocolate and small dried apricots or raisins. It is best enjoyed in a whiskey glass with a closed mouth to capture the aroma as soon as your lips touch the glass. It can be served at room temperature, but I added an ice cube to give it a little chill. Enchanting! It rivals whiskies of the $50 range.

From time to time, I buy drinks for personal use. I am neither a sommelier nor someone knowledgeable. I usually try them if the reviews are good. I had my doubts about this particular one, but I took a risk.

It is definitely a quality drink. Undoubtedly. Tremendous packaging, tremendous design.

What it promises about the aroma from wines, fruit flavors, etc., is true.

It's not a drink that you would serve on the table with steaks and chops. It requires a different approach if you want to accompany it with food.

For future interested buyers, in conclusion, I would like to say that it is worth buying despite its price. It might even become the new favorite. Personally, I definitely buy it every three months. One try will convince you. It's tsipouro on the next level.
