Review this product
  • Paper quality
  • Was it interesting enough?
  • I would choose a book by the same author
  • I would recommend it for purchase
  • A little girl monologues and describes to us in simple words everything that happens around her and affects her little heart. It transforms her into a little house, a star, a balloon, an elephant, a dragon, or a tree... And each transformation corresponds to a positive or negative emotion she experiences!
What initially caught my attention is the amazing colorful die-cut, in the shape of a heart, on a white background, which starts from the cover and reaches the last page of the book.
As you turn the pages one by one, the heart changes color, depending on the emotion it describes, and ends up red and tiny. Thus, it fits perfectly with the title of the book.
Another pleasant touch on the cover... A little mischievous girl, jumping over the heart...
At first, the cover attracted me, but as soon as I opened this particular book and saw a bright red spread with white hearts, I felt warmth and realized that I would really like it.
On its pages, the little girl describes in a simple and playful way emotions such as joy, fear, sadness, anger, and surprise!
But also concepts such as safety, acceptance, carefreeness, courage, calmness, pain, loneliness, hope, and excitement!
And all this, in just a few concise words, that nevertheless speak directly to the hearts of both young and old! But especially to the little ones, who may understand and accept more easily what they feel, since they become one with the little girl.
Both the cover and the pages are made of thick cardboard, suitable for small hands.
The paradox, and perhaps a bit ironic, is that such a small heart can hold so much inside it, big and small, that it should normally be huge!
Such a simple book, with short texts and a few apt, colorful, and impressive sketches! And yet so concise and full!
For me, it is a wonderful educational book, essential in every children's library!
The heart of every little child is a secret garden full of intense feelings! Watering, fertilizing, pruning, and care are necessary if we want it to bloom and remain beautiful!
