Before I start, I want to apologize for all this lengthy explanation that will follow. Some things just need to be said so that someone knows what is really going on with this product. Because if you don't know what you're buying and you buy blindly, then you'll blame the product (and unfairly).

-- I want to inform many that Reuzel pink is an oil-based pomade, and specifically, it is a POMADE. Oil-based pomades look and have a texture similar to wax/grease (depending on the pomade, whether it is light or heavy, etc.). Not like some others that most people have learned about, like Uppercut Deluxe (which is so popular and has very good reviews, bless it), which are NOT pomades but gels in a better packaging that says Pomade on the outside (for marketing reasons, of course. What should companies write on the outside, the word Gel....). In fact, I would characterize these "pomades" more as Premium gels, not pomades.

-- Also, oil-based pomades are for traditional retro old-school hairstyles like slickbacks and for a greasier/wetter look. In this case, the hair must be much longer, and the comb should be able to glide through it easily. They are not for guys who take their hair to the side and back shaved (on the verge of being shaved) and leave at most half an inch of hair on top. Or for someone who has only 3 inches of hair on top and wants to style it a bit to the side and give it some shine. In this case, personally, I don't see the reason for someone to go for an oil-based pomade.

-- I also want to inform that oil-based pomades do not wash out easily from the hair, and this is well known (unless some people don't know this and buy whatever blindly). In fact, this is accepted and desired by fans of these specific pomades.

-- However, the fact that these pomades do not rinse out and do not come out easily from the hair can be negative in some aspects for some, but it also offers some positives (meaning this specific fact is not necessarily negative). For example, you can wake up in the morning and still have the pomade in your hair, allowing you to easily restyle it with a simple comb. And because they do not harden and stiffen the hair like water-soluble "pomades," you can take the comb and style your hair without any problem. If you want, you can add a little water to make the comb glide more easily, without worrying about ruining the pomade (meaning it won't break or lose a large part of it due to water. And this doesn't happen because it is NOT water-soluble).

-- Also, the pomade does not get ruined if the hair gets wet accidentally (e.g., from rain) because it is NOT water-soluble. Or it is not particularly affected by sweat because it is NOT water-soluble. I sweat very easily, and a lot. When I used water-soluble gel "pomade," at work where I lifted weights and ran, I would become a mess from sweat. My hair would be wet from sweat. The result? The water-soluble pomade would dissolve because it is WATER-SOLUBLE. As a result, my hair would be completely ruined. I don't have this problem with oil-based pomade. At most, I might need to restyle it a bit with my hands (well, we won't even discuss if you have a comb with you at that moment to fix it. You can restyle it however you want). Even if you fall into the sea, for example, you come out, comb it, and you're good to go.

-- Also, even if you take a shower and wash your hair, some of the pomade remains, resulting in you being able to style your hair after the shower (at most, if you want, you can add a little extra pomade). This creates a good build-up for the next days. Of course, let's say that if you wash your hair 6-7 times even with regular shampoo, almost all of the pomade will be removed (only a minimal to no amount will remain on the hair). With special shampoos, it is easily removed.

-- Generally, oil-based pomades are all-weather, they are durable, tough, and you can easily style your hair during the day, reshape it, and bring it back. They create a very good build-up for the next day(s). Especially if you have long, thick hair and want retro old-school hairstyles, they are just what you need, and in most cases, they are the only option. If, on the other hand, you don't like the fact that they don't wash out easily from your hair, simply don't purchase these pomades. Get something else and that's the end of the matter. And as I wrote above, look and research a bit before you buy. So that you neither get disappointed nor feel like you wasted your money.

-- REUZEL PINK HEAVY HOLD GREASE POMADE

And since I said a lot about oil-based pomades in general, let me say a few specific things about Reuzel pink.

-- Reuzel pink, as I mentioned above, is an oil-based pomade, specifically a heavy hold. This means that it comes out even more difficult compared to a light-medium hold (like the green one from the same company). Nevertheless, with a little more washing, I managed to remove it (with a cheap regular shampoo from the supermarket. Not some special one). But anyway, it is a bit difficult to remove. However, I don't mind, as I want it to create a build-up for the next day(s).

-- Its scent is quite nice. It reminds me of bubblegum from the 90s, which had a strawberry-cherry style scent. It is sweet, not too heavy, and I have no issue (meaning it doesn't suffocate you).

-- Its texture and appearance are like wax. It is a bit hard to take out of the jar, but with a little extra force, you won't have a problem. However, unfortunately, it doesn't spread easily on the hand. It requires quite a bit of rubbing and warming in the palms. If you can use a hairdryer to warm it up and soften it a bit, that would be good. Nevertheless, I break it down only with enough rubbing in my palms. It doesn't spread easily in the hair, and there you need to be a bit careful so that you can apply it correctly. Otherwise, you might see some white spots in certain areas of your hair, as it won't have spread well. It makes styling a bit difficult, but slowly and carefully, you'll manage (wetting the comb a bit would be a good idea that would help). This is the only negative aspect of this particular pomade, namely its application. And it is logical since it is a heavy hold. With light-medium hold pomades, things are easier. WARNING: I want to emphasize that I apply it only on fairly wet hair, and to be precise, right after I come out of the shower. I towel-dry it a bit, and then I apply it (there's no problem applying it on wet hair, as water doesn't affect it since it is NOT water-soluble). I can't imagine how someone would manage to apply it on dry hair.

-- But if you find a way to apply it, the result afterward is very good. It has excellent hold that lasts all day (at most, you might need to touch it up a bit sometimes, either with your hands or a comb). It doesn't have much shine. It gives the hair a slight gloss, but it doesn't make them look too wet (which is reasonable for heavy hold. The lighter-medium holds have more shine but less hold, as is known). You can feel the hair has a bit of weight, and it has a sensation like you have something greasy in your hair (I can't describe it exactly, so don't let this description scare you too much). However, when you touch it, you don't feel that it sticks too much, nor that it's too greasy. It's all good; I didn't notice any issues that bothered me with my hair. And I apply a good amount of pomade to my hair. I don't skimp. And it creates a good build-up for the next day(s).

-- I want to emphasize that my hair is thick, a bit long (about 10-12 inches) on the sides and back, and has a bit of coarse, unruly texture, which is slightly wavy. Generally, it's difficult and unruly hair that doesn't lay down or style easily. I want to slick it back, but until it grows a bit more, I style it to the side in a side part. The Reuzel pink really does a good job, and I was satisfied. I don't know how it will work on longer hair (around 15-20 inches), although I think it won't have any issues. I'll try it again when the time comes, and I'll also try the green one from the company.

-- So, for guys like me, who have similar hair and want retro, traditional looks, it's just right. For someone with thinner and easier hair, I would suggest trying the green one from Reuzel first, and if they want more hold, then to try the pink one. Also, the company suggests that if someone wants, they can mix both together (green/pink) to achieve an intermediate result. I'll try that too.

-- So that's it from me, and sorry again for this long rant, but some things needed to be said. So that someone can know how it works and what to expect from this particular pomade. Because if they don't know, they'll end up feeling disappointed later and think they wasted their money (and form a wrong opinion about the product and unfairly judge it afterward).
