We are thrilled to announce the release of the next issue in the series of English books for children and adults that introduce readers to the world and culture of ancient Greece through the iconic heroines of mythology, focusing on the mythical figure of the most controversial woman of ancient Greece, Antigone. Whether through adaptations of classical tragedies by Euripides, Aeschylus, and Sophocles or original works based on well-known sources, these books aim to take readers on a journey filled with adventure, drama, death, and love, while also highlighting the women who played such a significant role in our history - and who are often still remembered as mere spectators. The series began with the books Medea, Circe, Electra, Helen, continues with Antigone, and will conclude in June 2024 with Ariadne. Each book can be read independently, and you can start reading in any order, but there is a central thread that ultimately connects all these characters and provides a broader view of what it was like to be a woman in the ancient Greek world.
