Very good and reliable. And above all, cheap for its capabilities. I got it for 43 euros for electrical work. It detects live wires and metal pipes. Depending on what the sensor detects, it makes the corresponding sound. It immediately detected the path that the cable follows in the socket, as well as the concealed copper water pipes.

Edit: The other day it was showing that it was about to break. It was hitting as if there was electricity in an empty wall. To make it work properly, we had to first put it on a real cable and then on the wall again. After the initial craziness, it worked correctly...
Edit 2: It is no longer unreliable. We will get another one. It doesn't work even if you put it in a place with electricity. In the same spot, sometimes it hits, sometimes it doesn't. It gives you a very approximate sense of where the cables are. It's a shame because it worked perfectly for the first 2 months. (We used it for household purposes, we are not professionals or anything, we might have used it 10 times in total, and it never fell on us).
Edit 3: I should note that all of the above we did on a solid wall. However, I think the tool is for drywall? We always used it on walls.

Edit: προχθές έδειχνε ότι να ναι. βάραγε λες και έχει ρεύμα σε άδειο τοίχο. για να στρώσει έπρεπε να το βάλουμε πρώτα πάνω σε αληθινό καλώδιο και μετά πάλι στον τοίχο. μετά τις αρχικές τρέλες, δούλευε σωστά...
Edit 2: πλέον δεν είναι αναξιόπιστο. θα πάρουμε άλλο. δεν στρώνει ούτε αν το βάλεις σε μέρος που έχει ρεύμα. στο ίδιο σημείο μια βαράει, μια δε βαράει. σου δίνει μια πολύ "στο περίπου" αίσθηση του που ειναι τα καλώδια. κρίμα γιατί τους πρώτους 2 μήνες δούλευε τέλεια. (οικιακή χρήση του κάναμε, δεν είμαστε επαγγελματίες η κάτι τέτοιο, αντε να το χουμε χρησιμοποιήσει 10 φορές σύνολο, και δε μας έπεσε ποτέ).
Edit 3: να σημειώσω ότι όλα τα παραπάνω τα κάνουμε σε σοβατισμένο τοίχο. νομίζω όμως ότι το εργαλείο είναι για γυψοσανίδα? εμείς πάντα σε τοίχους το χρησιμοποιούσαμε.

The issue is that it detects in a very general way; whether something is right above or 15cm away, it gives the same signal.
Additionally, it cannot detect network cables (with or without shielding), whether they carry current (PoE, PoE+, PoE++, PoE+++) or not.

Την δουλειά του να εντοπίζει μέταλο και καλώδια πίσω από ξύλο, ψευδοροφή και μπετό την κάνει.
Το θέμα του είναι πως κάνει πολύ γενικό τον εντοπισμό, τι ακριβώς από πάνω τι στα 15εκ χτυπά το ίδιο.
Επιπλέον δεν μπορεί να εντοπίσει καλώδιο δικτύου (με ή χωρίς θωράκιση) είτε περνά ρεύμα (PoE, PoE+, PoE++, PoE+++) είτε όχι.
I would give it 2.5 stars, if that were possible. It does work (it detects metals and power cables) but it has two main disadvantages:
1) The sensitivity cannot be adjusted and this is a major drawback. As a result, it "beeps" like crazy, whether the voltage field is weak or strong. So, yes, it does detect live wires but with very limited accuracy. In contrast, my Chinese multimeter (Uni-T) in NCV mode also cannot be adjusted, but it beeps slowly in weak fields and increases the frequency of the sound and the speed of the LED blinking as you approach the source (for example, this helped me a lot to accurately locate, with great effort though, a socket behind a bookshelf, which the Truvo detected as being about 10 centimeters larger on each side).
2) There is no switch to separate the two functions. So if there are both rebar (or frames) and live wires nearby, it confuses you because the sound signal is the same (there are visual indicators to distinguish plain metal from live wires, but you still get confused).
So, for its price, no, I do not recommend it. Especially if you are only interested in detecting live wires, get a multimeter with the corresponding function and you will have a tool that does more than this device.

I followed the instructions according to the user manual but it was not accurate in its measurements.. Don't expect too much..
Where there is reinforcement, it beeps for iron without distinguishing power cables even at two centimeters depth.. the third star is just in case I did something wrong in its use.. Two stars and that's generous

First day today.. simply VERY good.. what can you do with the screen if you have the right indications. I mainly wanted it to see cables through the wall and it is very good.. it has interrupted marking on power conductors so it can also be used as a voltage detector. I recommend it without hesitation..

Αντίθετα, το κινέζικο πολύμετρό μου (Uni-T) στη λειτουργία NCV ναι μεν δεν ρυθμίζεται αλλά χτυπάει αργά στα ασθενή πεδία και αυξάνει τη συχνότητα του ήχου και την ταχύτητα του αναβοσβησίματος του LED όσο πλησιάζεις στην πηγή (πχ αυτό με βοήθησε πολύ στο να εντοπίσω με ακρίβεια, με μεγάλη προσπάθεια βέβαια, μια πρίζα πίσω από βιβλιοθήκη την οποία πρίζα στο Truvo την έβλεπα μεγαλύτερη κατά 10 περίπου εκατοστά από κάθε πλευρά).
2) Δεν υπάρχει διακόπτης για να ξεχωρίσουν οι δύο λειτουργίες. Οπότε αν γειτνιάζουν και σίδερα οπλισμού (ή κουφώματα) και ηλεκτροφόροι αγωγοί, σε μπερδεύει γιατί το ηχητικό σήμα είναι το ιδιο (υπάρχουν οπτικές ενδείξεις για να ξεχωρίσει το απλό μέταλλο από τον ηλεκτροφόρο αγωγό αλλά και πάλι μπερδεύεσαι).
Οπότε, για τα χρήματά του, όχι δεν το συνιστώ. Ειδικά αν σας ενδιαφέρει μόνο η ανίχνευση αγωγών υπό τάση, πάρτε ένα πολύμετρο με την αντίστοιχη λειτουργία και θα έχετε ένα εργαλείο που κάνει πιο πολλά πράγματα από αυτό εδώ το κατασκεύασμα.
Initially, it does not find cables in a non-electrified property. I don't know if I didn't use it correctly, but it doesn't give good results with cables. A similar one from Temu found them better. First day today.. simply VERY good.. what can you do with the screen if you have the right indications. I mainly wanted it to see cables through the wall and it is very good.. it has interrupted marking on power conductors so it can also be used as a voltage detector. I recommend it without hesitation..
Πρωτη μερα σημερα.. απλα ΠΟΛΥ καλο.. τι να την κανεις την οθονη αν εχεις σωστες ενδιξεις. το ηθελα κυριως για να βλεπω καλωδιωσεις μεσα απο τον τοιχο και ειναι πολυ καλο.. στους ρευματοφορους αγωγους εχει διακοπτομενη σημανση οποτε μπορει να χρησημοποιηθει και ως ανιχνευτης τασης. Το συνιστω αφοβα..
The construction is plastic and very lightweight.
It does its job of detecting metal and cables behind wood, false ceiling, and concrete.
The issue is that it detects in a very general way; whether something is right above or 15cm away, it gives the same signal.
Additionally, it cannot detect network cables (with or without shielding), whether they carry current (PoE, PoE+, PoE++, PoE+++) or not.
H κατασκευή είναι πλαστικιά και πολύ ελαφρύ.
Την δουλειά του να εντοπίζει μέταλο και καλώδια πίσω από ξύλο, ψευδοροφή και μπετό την κάνει.
Το θέμα του είναι πως κάνει πολύ γενικό τον εντοπισμό, τι ακριβώς από πάνω τι στα 15εκ χτυπά το ίδιο.
Επιπλέον δεν μπορεί να εντοπίσει καλώδιο δικτύου (με ή χωρίς θωράκιση) είτε περνά ρεύμα (PoE, PoE+, PoE++, PoE+++) είτε όχι.
I would give it 2.5 stars, if that were possible. It does work (it detects metals and power cables) but it has two main disadvantages:
1) The sensitivity cannot be adjusted and this is a major drawback. As a result, it "beeps" like crazy, whether the voltage field is weak or strong. So, yes, it does detect live wires but with very limited accuracy. In contrast, my Chinese multimeter (Uni-T) in NCV mode also cannot be adjusted, but it beeps slowly in weak fields and increases the frequency of the sound and the speed of the LED blinking as you approach the source (for example, this helped me a lot to accurately locate, with great effort though, a socket behind a bookshelf, which the Truvo detected as being about 10 centimeters larger on each side).
2) There is no switch to separate the two functions. So if there are both rebar (or frames) and live wires nearby, it confuses you because the sound signal is the same (there are visual indicators to distinguish plain metal from live wires, but you still get confused).
So, for its price, no, I do not recommend it. Especially if you are only interested in detecting live wires, get a multimeter with the corresponding function and you will have a tool that does more than this device.
