The pandemic has proven not only the fragility but also the intense interaction and interconnection of countries.

Now, urgent joint action is required to redefine the priorities set concerning the Future of Education. An education that should contribute not only to fulfilling the unfulfilled promise of ensuring the right to quality education for every child, youth, and adult but also to realizing its transformative potential as a pathway to a sustainable collective future.

Governments, institutions, organizations, and citizens around the world are called to forge a new social contract for education that will help us build a peaceful, just, and sustainable future for all.

This new social contract will be based on human rights and the principles of non-discrimination, social justice, respect for life, human dignity, and acceptance of diversity. It will include a moral commitment to care, reciprocity, and solidarity and will strengthen education as a public endeavor and common good” (UNESCO: Reimagining our futures together, 2021).
