The prayer beads made from Sundus began to be manufactured in large quantities to meet the needs of the peoples of the Arab world. These beads were made with a mixture of Bakelite and various other natural materials. The production of the beads started in the mid-19th century and stopped around 1940.
Sundus worry beads are usually found in shades of yellow, ochre, brown, orange, and sometimes we see painted religious symbols with pyrography, such as eyes, crosses, and various other religious symbols.
Their sound is clear, crisp, and there is a variety of sizes that meet every requirement. Due to their durability and reliability, they are widespread in the hands of Greeks.
