Differences between biodegradable and compostable:

The terms biodegradable and compostable refer to materials of natural origin that decompose into water, carbon dioxide, and organic matter. For a material to be compostable, it must break down within 90 days. It is important that the bags are certified according to EN13432.

Important information:

• Plastic bags do not break down in industrial composting facilities and contaminate the process.
• Compostable bags only break down in a controlled composting environment.
• Store the bags in a cool and dry place.
• GreenAware compostable bags are durable and will not lose their integrity if the bin is emptied frequently.
• You can keep all waste in GreenAware bags, but they cannot be sent to a composting facility if the contents are not compostable.
• The shelf life of GreenAware compostable bags is 24 months under dry and cool conditions.
