The PRS SE Custom 24 Turquoise is a double-cutaway solid-body electric guitar based on Paul Reed Smith’s iconic Custom 24 design. The body is made of solid mahogany, with a carved maple cap and flame maple veneer. The set maple neck features an ergonomic Wide Thin profile and is paired with a 10-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard, 24 medium-jumbo frets, and traditional PRS Bird inlays. The electronics feature a pair of passive PRS 85/15 “S” humbuckers, with a push-pull switch on the tone control for coil-splitting. The hardware is completed by the PRS patented tremolo and PRS-designed sealed tuning machines.

Mahogany Body & Carved Flame Maple Top Construction

The instrument’s body combines a solid base made from selected mahogany (Solid Mahogany) with a maple top (Maple Cap) and an outer layer of flamed maple veneer (Flame Maple Veneer). The mahogany provides dense acoustic weight, extended natural sustain, and a balanced response in the low-mid frequencies, while the maple top contributes clarity and dynamic attack to the notes. The Shallow Violin Carve offers ergonomic positioning for the picking hand and comfort while playing. The glossy exterior finish in Turquoise highlights the wood’s natural grain while also protecting the surface from moisture and mechanical wear.

Wide Thin Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

The maple neck is joined to the body with a glued Set-Neck construction, ensuring direct transfer of acoustic vibrations and structural stability. It features a Wide Thin profile, with a thickness of 20.6 mm at the 1st fret and 22.6 mm at the 12th fret, providing a comfortable thumb position and low resistance during quick position changes. The Rosewood fingerboard has a 10" (254 mm) radius and PRS’s traditional intermediate 25" (635 mm) scale length, balancing string tension for both flexibility and precision. It features 24 Medium Jumbo frets with the iconic PRS Birds inlays, while the 42.8 mm-wide nut ensures smooth string movement.

PRS 85/15 “S” Electronics, Coil Split & Mounting Hardware

The electrical circuitry incorporates two passive PRS 85/15 "S" pickups, designed to provide extended clarity in the highs and a tight response in the lows, while maintaining note definition in both clean and distorted channels. The Master Tone potentiometer features a Push-Pull Coil-Split switch, allowing one coil in each pickup to be isolated for immediate access to clear single-coil tones via the 3-way blade selector. The hardware includes the cast PRS Patented Tremolo and sealed PRS-Designed tuners, ensuring smooth vibrato operation, accurate intonation, and reliable tuning stability.
